West Ham still harbour hopes of bringing loanee Axel Disasi back to east London for another season, to create the best defensive partnership in the Championship. Understandably, the player hopes to stay in the Premier League.
Chelsea have apparently decided they’d happily loan Axel Disasi out for another season, and have been in discussions with Premier League south Londoners Crystal Palace.
However the negotiation haven’t been plain sailing – surprise, surprise- and as it stand, there may be a glimmer of hope for West Ham to nip in and do a deal to land their number one defender of last season, on another season-long loan.

Journalist’s tweet confirming ‘Palace won’t be paying Chelsea’s price
According to French site footmercato, there’s consternation at Crystal Palace over the loan fee Chelsea are trying to screw out of them for the out of favour defender for a season-long ‘dry’ loan: Five million Euros ( £4.4 million) as a loan fee for one season might seem extortionate, compared to the £2 million West Ham paid, until you factor in that the Hammers only had Disasi for half a season.
The more Palace quibble, the better placed West Ham would be to take Disasi back to London Stadium. Just a small chance, but the longer the delay, the more West Ham can get in the ear of their West London neighbours. Never say never!
I thought we were told that we already had a deal agreed with both Disasi and Chelsea, to sign him permanently? But he wanted time to weigh up his other options.
He didn’t want to join us last time, but he did as a last resort rather than not play at all and he was a top professional when he was here. Why does every player have to love the club over everything else? Why would he be rushing back to play in Div 1 when he’s previously been linked with clubs like AC Milan? Every team needs a mixture of people, and professionals who look out for their own career or legacy shouldn’t be looked down on.
very naive of anyone to think that Disasi didn’t come to us to put himself in the shop window. he was a footballer desperate to play at a high level. by the end of the season i believed that had we survived he would definitely stay. it is possible for a player to love us, but also believe that there is more for them out there. right, Dec? (geez, i hated saying that!!!)
Beginning to feel like Jessie Lingatd all over. Please can we move on from Disasi, it’s boring
I initially was desperate to have him back , but I am beginning to wonder if he tried so hard with us to help get himself a move, I don’t want him to come to us as a last resort because nobody wants him , I worry he will not be so committed with a permanent move to us.
Disasi playing cat and mouse is understandable he knows whu are there waiting.
Just paid £5m for Solomon who is susceptible to injury.
Disasi is solid and you know what you’re getting.
The transfers are hardly coming thick and fast and look to be limited to £15m per player re debts.
Crystal Palace have already taken Chelsea centre back on loan and never looked likely to go for Disasi.
James is better option than Engels re funds and availability.
Remains to see if whu can stomp up a meagre £5m for Disasi but that could come from Engels saving.
Also no guarantee Engels will even come.
Let’s move on and spend the money further up the pitch !
Kilman has found his level and we have enough cover …
Don’t want him. Great player for us but if he’s holding out soft something better then he’s not that interested. Is that really what we need this season, a begrudgingly disinterested player who saw the club as a last resort? Not sure I’d take mbappe on those terms! We want commitment and a good team spirit which is why I want AWB out the door. If he’s not up for it go play for palace!
If someone knows what there doing up-the-top. it’s a no-brainer if we want a better chance of getting promoted get Desasi on board and pay the 5 mill. be the best 5 million transfer we’ve had. C O Y I’s
Didn’t he ask for a week to see if a better deal arrives? It’s been far longer than a week now, so regrettably we’ll have to assume he’s not coming to East London
