Double boost for Irons ahead of Saints clash

|

The Hammers will be boosted by the return of Arthur Masuaku AND Edmilson Fernandes for the remaining Premier League fixtures.

The left sided midfielder – having played at Dagenham and Redbridge in the midweek friendly fund raiser – has  since departed for international duty with DR Congo whilst Fernandes is with the Swiss under 21s for a Uefa Championship qualifier against Portugal.

Moyes is hopeful both will return fit and available for action against Southampton next weekend and said: “We hope [to have a stronger squad for the Southampton game].”

“We’ve not necessarily got loads of players back, but we’ve got Arthur back from a long suspension and Edi Fernandes has been taken away by Switzerland to play, I hope, because he would have got a bit of time against Dagenham, but we’re not getting a chance to see him [in person].

“Hopefully those two will add to the squad in the coming weeks but, other than that, I think most people are aware that we’ve got some quite long-term injuries.”
