Excited Randolph moves in

|

DarrenNew Hammer Darren Randolph has spoken of his excitement at joining the club.

The former Birmingham keeper made 45 appearances for City last season but was ready to play understdudy to Adrian when the Irons moved in.

Speaking to the official West Ham website heย said: ‘My initial reaction to joining West Ham is excitement.

‘It was a tough decision turning down Birmingham’s offer of a new contract because of the second part of the season we had and the team we had built.

‘I started at Charlton when I was 16 and left when I was 23,’ he explained.

‘It has been a long journey to try get back to the Premier League and a great achievement to be able to do so. It is where players all around the world would like to be.

‘I’ve played for the last five seasons so I would like to think I can come in and challenge for a place in the team. Adrian’s had a fantastic season so it is going be tough, but it is a challenge I look forward to.’

At least he has not come to be number 2
Have not seen him so no clue what he is like, but he came at the right price and enough people on this site I trust have said he is not bad

He is a good keeper bubs, would say only Ruddy & possibly Westwood are better than him in the championship.RoI international, good age, free, less wages than Jussi.Whats not to like as a back-up or competiton for Adrian ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Rads says:

This was a quality save from him ๐Ÿ˜‰

He’s an experienced professional at 28 and a decent keeper it seems, so he should be able to push Adrian for his place.

I’m happy with this, I see him playing on TV in the pub and hearing “brilliant save from the Irish international ” I actually thought it was Shay Given ( ok I know, but he does look like him from the other side of a pub while half cut) and I started watching him when I realised I was wrong but thought this keepers good, confident in crosses and a good stopper with great agility
