Andy Carroll is not seriously injured again and is being rested today purely as a precautionary measure.

ClaretandHugh has learned exclusively over thee last few minutes that the striker has merely suffered some bruising to an ankle and that he is perfectly comfortable.

We were told by a very well placed source: “There are no worries over Andy at all. As some fans saw he went over soon after arriving as a sub against Norwich and obviously there were immediate concerns given the circumstances that have surrounded him.

“He took a kick which has caused some bruising and we are making sure we don’t take any chances with his well being at this stage of his recovery.

“He has some bruising so the decision was taken to rest him for this weekend but he’s fine and there are no worries about any further lay-offs.”

He added that the bruising was taken on a knock to the ankle which was unaffected by his prolonged absence in 2014 adding: “That too is good news – there really are no worries at all.”

  • WestGoaHam says:

Just play him and stop f*cking about with all this panic talk. He either is or he isn’t.

    • Roman says:

I suspect the owners want to keep Carroll sound with a view to offloading him in the near future.I somehow think Carroll would not get through this campaign unscathed. Newcastle will come calling in January.IMHO

  • HamburgHammer says:

It must make the owners mad seeing all that money going from West ham’s books into Carroll’s account with precious little coming back in return.
Every week out injured, every week he’s not available due to being precautionarily rested in order not to suffer another injury is more money down the drain.
The problem is not even the transfer fee, if someone was willing to pay a million or two for Carroll we’d probably rip their arms off. But why would Carroll move with this cash cow of a contract he has at West Ham ? And who would pay him even half of his current wages these days elsewhere ?

  • Rob says:

No one would pay him anything like what he is on with us.It takes the p#ss when you think Sakho is on less than half of what AC earns!

  • johnboy says:

As I said earlyer stick him in the stiffs !!! S*it or bust.
The team has moved on from carol,
It will end in tears for the lad,
Insurance job on the way I think !!!!
