FA Cup shake-up on cards – possible line up

|

In?

David Moyes and the lads face a rapid realignment of objectives on Saturday – not easy after a  horrible defeat at the King Power Stadium last night.

The upside may be that he decides to start Pedro Fornals rather than the entirely out of form Manu Lanzini who has yet to make any impact at all this season never mind score a single goal in 19 appearances.

How high the match now rests in the the priorities of most is debatable given the perilous Premier League situation but as reported elsewhere on the site there’s unlikely to be sight of either Robert Snodgrass or Michail Antonio.

Out?

There has to be a question mark over Mark Noble with presumably Carlos Sanchez  coming in alongside Declan but there appears to be no rest for Zaba who will presumably be playing his fourth game in a fortnight.

Hopefully we will see Cresswell on the other side and it would be no surprise if Oggy is rested with Diop and Balbuea reunited at central defence.

With Nathan Holland allowed to go out on loan to Oxford and Anderson injured it can be assumed that Masuaku will continue down the left with maybe Haller and Ajeti up front giving the Swiss international a real opportnityto show what he’s got.

Possible team: Randolph, Zaba, Diop, Balbuena, Cresswell; Rice, Sanchez; Masuaku Fornals, Haller, Ajeti.

With the club owners showing no ambition to invest, leaving the club probably dropping into the championship. What advantages is this for the owners.

  • Alan D says:

Surely there must be someone in the U 23s that is better than Sanchez,
If there isn’t, then I would suggest they have no future as a footballer.

    • Powell’s been sold Coventry on loan

Can we win any cup…. Obviously no… Get out of it as it is a hindrance to our “over worked sqad” 😜If you analyse this team, one can only hope and pray…. Nothing to inspire one at all, shame so many players who cannot play twice in succession, what a tough life, playing on billiard tables compared to the mudaths of the 70’s, and 80’s.
Zabaletta fourth game in a row… WOW that’s amazing ( sat out for half the season 😅) We give extensions to players like Noble who cannot play 3 games a week, but send all of our so called players of the future our youngsters ( not convinced by any of them, but hard to judge when not given the opportunity) “on loan when our sqad is decimated..
” Mess”uaka, absolute shocker, OK enough is enough… Oh yes Liverpool and Man City on the horizon… Wish I was an ostrich at times so could bury my head in the sand for the next month… Going to be oh so painfulllllll.
        COYI.. 😮

When you look at Wolves tonight and the players / squad they have, makes us look a sorry mess. If we stay up this season it will be a miracle.

  • kcockayne says:

Looks like a recipe for yet another embarrassing disaster !

  • The Cat says:

Shows how short-sighted and arrogant this club has been to send out on loan and sell some of our best young players that we have had at this club in years. If it didn’t make sense to Most of our supporters, then that’s because it doesn’t make sense.
Again, this club is riddled with schoolboy errors in the most important areas….. when your in the position that we’re in, players of ability should not be sold or sent out on loan.

    • GaryD says:

This is a business. We still buy tickets and watch the matches. Why not sell anything that is good?

      • Beatz says:

Cant understand why we even let players like Diangana and Josh Cullen go out on loan last year and then send all are good youngsters out on loan this year when year upon year we seem to have the biggest injury list

  • Alan Bright says:

Cannot believe the situation we are in at the moment !!! Half the side look as though they are not interested and the other half think why bother then. The owners have ruined this club by not spending on good players, not has beens, moving from Upton Park and thinking it’s a little game. It is BIG and you have to think BIG. What an absolute shower. DISGUSTED. In it for only what they can get out of it.

  • Finn Luckie says:

    Who’s pedro fornals mate? Lol

  • Elliott Stern says:

Fact that Zaba makes the starting XI is enough said. COYI

  • Tim says:

Please all you so called supporters go and support someone else .Upton park as gone.

  • Mick says:

If Winston fit enough for bench last couple of games then he has to get a run out.
May be the answer to defensive crap we witnessing.

  • zahama says:

I think that the next three games are a real dilemma

Brighton is turning into a must win fixture – so do we put out weakened teams for WBA and Liverpool (hence admitting defeat)? It is what BFS did against Forest and in the League Cup against Citeh – and he got slaughtered for it.

One thing that is now obvious is that we dont have a big squad and certainly dont have two players for every position

The romantic in me says that Liverpool will slip up sometime so we could get something from that against all odds (like the 19th century football against Chelsea in which Roger Johnson played a heroic role) – but a point against Liverpool and 1 or 0 points against Brighton is not as good as 3 points against Brighton

Over to you Moyes – this si where we see what you are made of as a manager

    COYI
