West Ham are returning to a former target from previous transfer windows in a bid to boost their attacking options: Despite having been relegated the club are looking at a star from the Danish Superliga who has been prolific across the last three seasons, with 55 goals and 13 assists in 107 games, winning one league title and the Danish Cup last season.
At least, that’s the claim from sportsview.co.uk who report today that West Ham are returning to a former £17m target, despite the striker having Premier League sides monitoring his form:
“West Ham United monitoring FC Midtjylland star Franculino Dju:

Franculino Djú – admired by West Ham since 2024
Everton and Fulham both want to bring the 22-year-old Guinea-Bissau international to the Premier League.
Dju bagged 22 goals last term in 34 games across all competitions.
The West Ham target impressed in the league phase of the Europa League, bagging three goals in five appearances”
Another forward mentioned in passing by exWHUemployee in recent days, Dju has been a target from Graham Potter’s “we don’t need no strikers” days, reportedly the subject of a failed £17 m bid by Sullivan.
Quite how West Ham plan to lure him down to the dark murky depths of the second tier of English football isn’t clear, but he’d likely go down a storm in the Championship with the kind of touch and finishing ability that Pablo Felipe has failed to produce in his seventeen Hammers outings.
With Nuno having reportedly told Pablo that he’s on the way out of the club, a replacement needs to hit the ground running: Dju could be an inspired choice – if the Irons can land him.
I got weird deja vu for a minute reading that…thinking of Mesaque Djú, formerly with us.
But I’m not sure we’re quite in the murky depths just yet, and he’d almost certainly get more game time with us then a premiership side. That and a non-promotion release clause maybe?
