Fans answer Pellegrini’s “stay until the end ” plea

|
Manuel Pellegrini has told Hammers fans to stay until the end of games after the stadium emptied as we lost to Bournemouth. Here’s how Claretandhugh followers at https://www.facebook.com/groups/363174467150521/ responded.
O I only recall ever leaving two games early, both by a matter of two minutes or so and with a fed up child in tow.
People have a
right to leave whenever they wish. They paid. If players put in a shift and look to give their all and the fans can see this, they’ll be supported until the final whistle and beyond. They didn’t. So they weren’t. It’s early days but he really should reconsider putting fans’ backs up.
O This is a two way street. Why should fans not be entitled leave early, at least they turned up which is more than you say for the team.
O Even when we’re winning, the Stadium empties before the final whistle. I guess Pellegrini hasn’t had to experience the time it takes to get out of the Stadium to the car or train. People leave early to get a head start on the rush. I’ve only left early once  and only then because it was January and I was freezing – but I don’t live too far away so have better options.
I never leave games early and despite our second half performance we only needed a goal to grab a draw and could have had if Wilshere had not hit his shot into the ground. But it is a two way thing, the players have got to show the hunger and desire.
O I’ll admit we left on 83 minutes and there were thousands in front of us. You have to charge down to the Station to try and avoid the stop-go boards and the real scrum. It seems to me a very large number are of the same mind
O Win the game outright and play well everyone will stay. Fans will happily stay to the end and suffer the stop / start boards if they are given a reason to
O I realise in the grand scheme of things queuing to be shoehorned into a train once a fortnight isn’t the end of the world but I am getting fed up of commentators and pundits -and now the manager -questioning our supporters loyalties because they start leaving at 80 mins after the team show no real sign of scoring another goal.

I understand where Pelle is coming from but there is one thing he must remember.Apart from the reasons given above the faithful Hammers fan has suffered two seasons of absolute dross produced on the pitch, mixed with some terrible transfer business. Then Pelle is signed up ,£100m spent ,9 new players bought and the expectations soar. The fact is we’ve conceded 6 and scored one by penalty. We all know it takes time but at this time it seems that the dross is still there.Maybe this is another reason for fans leaving early.Deja vu.

I can understand MP’s frustration and I invariably do stay to the end. However as others have pointed out leaving the stadium and getting to the trains can be a very time-consuming process and many supporters (like myself) have long journeys to get home…there is a considerable fanbase who no longer live in the east end or metropolitan Essex.
So PG and players be aware that departing fans aren’t necessarily voting with their feet but are just making an early start on what may be a 2 -3 hour journey home (and in some cases even longer).

I always stay to the (often bitter) end, but I have a short journey to Gants Hill.Personally I think a supporter should stay and support to the end of the game but of course it’s a personal choice.I disagree that we showed no signs of equalizing as we had a lot of late play in their area and were worth a draw despite of short comings, and Yarmelenko looks a real prospect.

On a practical note I find leaving the stadium later more pleasant and just as time effective. When I leave the BML at 16.55 going with the mass I will be on the Central line platform at 17.30.When I have left at 17.20 the walk becomes 10 minutes as the crowds have gone.

As usual too much being read into things . If the media and pundits turned Thier attention to other clubs they would observe the same thing . People who live further away than those that can walk there tend to leave to avoid the madding crowd . Even Gander Green sees people leaving early for various reasons .
Anyway , I digress . ; if Pelligrini is going to continue with his ploy of dropping players because of one bad result then we should see the return of the players dropped for the Bournemouth game . Being stubborn ain’t gonna Win us anything . We have already seen over the last few seasons how managerial stubbornness has led to near disaster . If we are to avoid a repeat of the same , again , it’s time to pick tried and trusted players .
For example : Antonio , Cresswell , Rice & Adrian . It was tactics rather than poor play .
We need players that will scrap , not players that just mozy around .
Arsenal have suffered two defeats on the bounce just as we have . They will definitely be up for a win at home to a unsettled west ham side . The chips are down for this game without question .

I can handle the walk to the station, the stop start boards etc, I can handle the disappointment of losing, I can handle dropping a lead to go behind. What I cant handle is seeing a group of ridiculously overpaid grown men sulking and not putting any effort in because its not going their way. It wasnt going Bournemouth’ s way at the half time whistle, they didn’t down tools and give up the fought and came out and spanked us.

All valid reasons I would say especially given the expectations which maybe will take time but beating a team like Bournemouth shouldn’t be a problem as they are not a premier team just punching above thier weight thanks to Howe. Sorry but that’s true

Simple really show some heart and desire and our a full 90 min shift in and the fans will have something to stay for …get a grip over paid premadonas
