Few injury worries for low scoring Newcastle

|

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce is close to having an injury free squad available for Saturday”s clash with the Hammers at the London Stadium.

However, with his team having scored just six Premier League goals scored this season whilst recording 15 against, the Hammers will be looking to gain a much needed win after managing just a point from the clash against Sheffield United.

Matt Ritchie has embarked on another week of training with his team-mates after suffering damaged ankle ligaments against Leicester in August while Florian Lejeune played 45 minutes for the under-23s on Monday night.

However, influential midfielder Matt Longstaff will serve out a one match suspension following a high challenge against Ruben Neves at Wolves.

Federico Fernandez was making his first league start of the season at Wolves after Fabian Schar was ruled out of the game with a sore knee but the Switzerland international should be back in contention for the trip to West Ham on Saturday.

And Andy Carroll, who suffered a groin strain while stretching for the ball in the defeat at Chelsea earlier this month, is now being reported as perhaps becoming available to face us.

The Hammers meanwhile are all but injury free as boss Manuel Pellegrini attempts to find the team to break a recent run of worrying form.
