First ‘live’ Boxing Day attendance concerns

|

So we are heading into our first London Stadium Boxing Day fixture in front of a crowd on Sunday but given all the circumstances it may not be the success the club had hoped had for.

The first ‘live’ game was due last season but with lockdown etc, the match against Brighton was rearranged for TV and saw us gain one of our regular draws – 2-2.

A bumper crowd should be on the cards but there are a lot of militating factors working against it.

There can be little doubt that the spread of the Omricon variant will deter some – particularly the older supporters no doubt – and with no trains running that is obviously going to affect any travel arrangements in a biggish way.

On top of that is the need to have filled in forms via e mail showing covid and vaccination statuses which needed to be filled in by e mail and returned to the club.

That may have put a few off given the other circumstances along with what they may fee will be delays on entry as a result.
