First Soucek, now Yarmo …so why an international break?

|

News that Andriy Yarmolenko has tested positive demonstrates the absolute folly of international breaks during the present world health situation.

Last time around it was Tomas Soucek who was forced into self isolation – this time it’s Yarmo  who has had enough bother in his life so far this season.

One has to assume that checks are regularly made on the countries that can and can’t be visited but even regardless of that, this virus appears to know no borders anyway.

Claretandhugh Facebook Group follower Steve Maynard made all the points that need making commenting on the page @https://www.facebook.com/groups/363174467150521/

He said: ‘Internationals should have been put on hold, until next season and why are authorities trying to cram everything in during these uncertain times.

Where did the Nations Cup come from anyway and as for playing friendlies?!

The clubs, managers and players, could do without it. Whilst football is trying to catch up from last season’s lockdown I just hope that Declan and our Czech boys come back without any injuries.
