Fonseca views property after Irons interview

|

Paulo Fonseca has reportedly viewed  property in London following his 75 minute meeting with David Sullivan in Essex yesterday.

The Portuguese manager of Shakhtar Donetsk is reported by the the Mirror to have jetted into London where he was joined by super agent Jorge Mendes at Sullivan’s multi-million pound Essex mansion.

According to Mirror Football he had a viewing at a luxury one bedroom property in the surrounding area after “concluding positive talks.”

Fonseca is described as “a lover of dynamic, attacking football” and is an accomplished tactician who believes in team work, creativity, high intensity and competitiveness.

However, despite their speed in getting him in for talks the Irons, with Shakhtar looking to tie him down to another deal, the Irons will meet with departing PSG manager Emery later this week.

Emery won the Ligue 1 title with ease this season but will make way for former Dortmund chief Thomas Tuchel who was also a marginal Hammers target.

So the same as Moyes but with a funny foreign name. Very exotic.
I will of course support the team and the manager at least for the first couple of years to give him a chance, but it would be sheer folly to replace Moyes with this novice just because he is foreign.
Especially as Moyes and his excellent team of coaches have already begun the job which a new coach will have to start all over again. Ridiculous.

Sorry Fish can’t agree with this one . Moyes has lost the plot since he left Everton . He has little tactical ability..just look at what the top teams did to us and how many teams scored 4 against us ..Moyes has never won anything of significance and will not attract quality players to join us . We need someone of charisma to offset the shock of being interviewed by the slime ball. Moyes is not that man . Could / should have given a few youngsters a run in last couple of games but we got same old same old . Ideally I would like to see a new set up .. owners downwards . New broom syndrome to get rid of the sleaze that Sulivan has brought to the club .

Apart from Sunderland, ours was the worst squad he has had to work with. Bilic’s figures for losing by 3 or more goals were much worse than his. 23% of games like that for Moyes and about 66% for Bilic. That shows the hopeless state of our squad. He actually did far better than some peolpe think. ( Check the league games for each of them and correct me if I made a mistake. )

This guy seems to be flavour of the month but I’m not sure his pedigree is actually as good as it seems… Just because he beat a city team with nothing to play for and wore a zorro costume people think he’s the next big thing. He spent a long time in Portugal without setting the world on fire and obtaining success with shaktar is nearly as easy as it is with someone like celtic etc, I’m not sure if this risk is worth it

If you do a bit of reading on this guy you’ll see he has plied his new trade very well. Even in the Portuguese league with a very mediocre team, his worst season consisted of them obtaining 1.38 points per match. In the 38 Premier league games that would equate to 52 points, around 7th/8th in the league. This was on his worst season there. I think he could be a very good move for us .

I’d argue that his worst season was when he was at porto and got sacked after less than a year, having only lasted till march by which time they’d been knocked out the champions league in an ok group and finished 3rd in the league (by Portos standards very disappointing)

I think it is hell of a risk and I would be very surprised if the owners went for him, then again he may come cheap!
