Former Hammer says managing West Ham would be dream

|
Former Hammer Joe Cole wants to be a football manager long term and says managing West Ham would be a dream job.Cole told FourFourTwo magazine: “My long-term plans are to coach or manage – I am doing my A License and really enjoying that side of things. Your body tells you how long to play on for. Last year I had a good season, played very well and the club offered me another contract. The old pros tell you to play on for as long as you possibly can because you are a long time retired. So I will keep going for as long as my body is up for it.”
As for who he wants to manage, Cole said of Chelsea and West Ham: “They would be dream jobs for a lot of people, but I’ve got plenty of steps to take before I get anywhere near that level.I’m gaining experience and don’t know where I’ll end up just yet.
“There are hundreds of roles within a football club, from director of football down to academy roles. But for every player if you love football, you’d love to be manager of England, Chelsea or West Ham.”
