Fornals apologises to the fans

Pablo Fornals has apologised to Irons fans for failing to win against Everton on Sunday.

The Hammers were probably undone by Carlo Ancelotti’s outfit choosing to park the bus after they had gone ahead.

But in fairness to The Toffees they defended very well indeed and the boys found it impossible to break them down.

Pablo was my personal man of the match and supplied the best chance to Said Benrahma but saw his beautifully lifted cross into the box headed wide.

Throughout the game he was at high energy level and both his short and long passing was of real quality.

At the end however it all came to nothing and nobody could have been more disappointed than the Spaniard who has really come of age in recent weeks as a top Hammer.

He felt the team deserved a lot more but in the end of course the reality is they only have themselves to blame and in fact failed to get a shot on goal.

Commenting to www.whufc.com he said: “The feeling on Sunday was one of frustration, because I think we did more than them in the game – and did well enough to win – but obviously they punished us for our mistakes and that’s football

“We apologise to our fans, because it was a great chance for us to keep on our winning ways and good spot, but there are still more games to the finish and we have the opportunity to fight for ourselves.

“We are in a good position, so we want to win and we want to stay there.

“I’m proud, because if we play like we did today, but just scoring our chances, we’ll be comfortable [in achieving what we want to at] the end of the season.

“Obviously, until the end every game will be a fight. Every team is fighting for something, but we just have to try to play like Sunday and score our chances.”
