Watford are looking to snap up West Ham United right-back Jeremy Ngakia when he becomes a free agent according to the Daily Mail
Ngakia’s contract ends on 30th June, he has not only snubbed a new long-term three-year permanent deal with generous incentives but he also a short-term offer to give him at West Ham until the end of the season.
Other London clubs linked with interest have included Arsenal, Spurs and Crystal Palace.
Bundesliga side Schalke is also said to want him and would have to pay just £260,000 in compensation due to being a non-English club.
If Ngakia signs for an English considerable compensation would be due with West Ham free to negotiate and name their own valuation with the club who signs him.
If the two clubs can’t agree to valuation would be set by an independent tribunal. While there is no suggestion so far that any of these clubs have illegally approached a West Ham contracted player it will interesting to see which club emerges from the dust when this is all over.
This boy has been tapped. To refuse any negotiation at all on a new contract or even an extension for the nine games left in the season surely screams that he has a deal in his back pocket. Sadly we will know soon enough who this club is – claim the max.
But he seems to have been approached and told the deal depends on him not extending his contract until the end of the season. I hope I’m wrong…
