George Earthy Update

|

West Ham United have issued an update on the health of young midfielder George Earthy. The Academy star was stretchered off the pitch towards the end of the 2-0 Premier League defeat to Fulham at The London Stadium.

I wouldn’t like to speculate too much in the nature of the injury at this stage, but the fact that he was replaced by Maxwel Cornet as a concussion substitute is quite telling.

Academy gets a huge boost with the goal from George Earthy

George Earthy Injury Update: Academy star George Earthy is awake but has travelled to hospital.

Like every Hammers fan watching, I was incredibly concerned for the young mans welfare and look forward to hearing some good news. In the meantime, well done to West Ham for understanding that fans will be worried and for getting their update out in a timely fashion.

The statement on the official website reads  . . .

West Ham United can confirm George Earthy will undergo an assessment in a London hospital this evening following the incident which saw him stretchered off during today’s Premier League fixture against Fulham.

The midfielder – who entered the field as a second half substitute to make his Premier League debut against the Cottagers – was taken off in stoppage time.

Manager David Moyes said: “George has suffered a head injury.

“He’s awake and has been taken to hospital for further assessment.”

West Ham United will provide a further update in due course.

Good luck George . . . we’re rooting for you mate  COYI
