West Ham joint Chairman David Gold and vice-chairman Karren Brady have been noticeably absent on social media since news broke of Dimi Payet’s refusal to play for West Ham again – seemingly as part of a deliberate policy not to add more fuel atop the fire with any Twitter outbursts from the two high profile board members.
Even Jack Sullivan has complied with the social media black out on Payet’s antics and has stayed quiet during the media storm.
But yesterday evening the club’s board finally broke silence by publishing a well polished statement from David Gold on WHUFC.com – probably on the advice of West Ham’s new Head of corporate comms Paul Cox, who has been advising them on PR in the last few days.
Gold told the official website: “I am saddened by the recent revelations that Dimitri Payet wants to leave West Ham United.
We have met all of his requirements since he joined and we committed long-term to him when we gave him a new five-year contract back in February 2016, so this is hugely disappointing.
We have made it clear that he is not for sale and we want to see some loyalty from him, after Slaven, the players and all the fans have given him so much support.
We gave Dimitri the opportunity to play in the best league in the world when he wasn’t in the France team and the platform that has helped him become one of the best players in Europe.
Slaven gave him the confidence to excel in the Premier League and he got back into the France team due to his impressive form at West Ham United.
He signed a long-term contract last year and we want him to honour that.
I know this news will come as a big shock to our fans, but knowing them like I do, I am sure they will do everything to get behind the team on Saturday and help us get back to winning ways”

He was quick enough to take his loyalty bonus in Sept wasnt he the snide.Mind you to be fair there are little turds like him all over the league taking loyalty bonuses when the loyalty really isnt there in their hearts ☺
Rads don’t know about you mate but think he’s a bit like some of our new and some of our old fan base! Moaning and *****ing about anything then doing a runner when he doesn’t get what he wants and refusing to come back to the club ever again 🙂
Yeah i was laughing earlier when i saw fjord boy slagging the board because the board paid loyalty bonuses to the Fat Frog.Saying it shows how stupid our board are.Shows how f*cking stupid he is if he doesnt realise it happens at nearly every club & in business as well 😁

Dear Mr G . It seems you don’t know the fans as well as you think you do . I can’t speak for all , nor would I try to . But , I think you will find most are in disagreement . Who needs a parasite like Payet who takes a £million ” loyalty handout ” only to stab the club in the back .
Get him off our Island ASAP . We may even be better off without him as it frees up the rest of the squad to go do what they have been restricted from doing .
He will go down in History of West Ham , and all for the wrong reasons . He has become part of an elite group ., but top of the heap .

This is my take on the ongoing situation, wh don’t need a player like this in the team full stop.
If he don’t want to play now then he ain’t goner have the heart for it in 2 or 3 weeks when he’s stopped sulking, we don’t need the man in our team, he’s terrible at defending and every game this season all I’ve seen him do is standing by the halfway line waiting for the ball no backtracking nothing…and the owners the manager and other players must feel really ****ed of with him throwing a hissy fit like this…..get the money and invest it into a hopefully a players we need
