Gold reveals his likely retirement age!

MoorethanHe’s 79 years old, remains a central part of this football club and has been a club owner for 25 years!

So just when is David Gold going to retire and how does he answer the constant snipes from the keyboard warriors that he’s only in it for the dough!

He showed his passion in that extraordinary picture when entering a director’s box seventh heaven when Andy Carroll scored at the weekend against Chelsea.

And now in the ClaretandHugh interview section of  http://moorethanjustapodcast.podbean.com/ he has mentioned his likely retiremeent age.

He explains: “We have two families here – the Gold family and the Sullivan family. It’s two families and every member of those families are passionate about our football club.

“They – every member of the families –  recognise that their Dads have shown their own passion for this club and they respect everything their fathers are and have tried to achieve.

“We are pretty good at what we do and we both have regular medical check ups. I would be very disappointed if I wasn’t  here and involved in 10 years time.

“You may ask what a man of 90 does with his time – well probably by them I will be ready to retire!”
