West Ham chairman David Gold has admitted we ‘possibly’ need another centre back. When one West Ham fan tweeted him saying “We need a central defender I’d reckon Vlaar”
Gold answered “Possibly but we do have Tomkins Reid Collins Henry + two very promising young centre backs in Burke and Oxford. dg”
Vedrean centre back Corluka has already linked with a move to West Ham. The 29-year-old Croatian is currently at Lokomotiv Moscow, but he spent four years with Tottenham between 2008 and 2012 and before that a year at Manchester City.
Tomkins I feel is not good enough to step up to nxt level, ginge can’t fault his commitment but likewise, time to get in better.
Agree Essex,at this moment in time we have some pretty average centre backs,who also have bad injury records.We do need a better CB but with other positions needing reinforcements i aint sure its a real priority for them right now.Need to sort out our midfield first.It was so pedestrian it was embarressing at times last year.
Imo teams need to build a team from the back up. We played like rabbits in headlights in too many games. Sheer panic, leaving great big holes & throwing too many games away in last few minutes.
Yeah im with you,just think they have different priorities.I would love to see a more vocal,real leader in our defence.
