Gold takes pragmatic view on Hull result

|

West-Ham-United-co-owner-David-GoldDavid Gold is choosing not to join in the protests about West Ham’s level of performance against Hull City yesterday and has decided perhaps to take the more pragmatic view.

The Hammers have been roundly slagged off by many critics after a dire display at the London Stadium which saw the lowly visitors hit the woodwork four times.

The Hammers ran out 1-0 winners via a controversial penalty for what appeared from TV replays to be the softest of fouls on Michail Antonio.

Gold, however was more focused on the rise up the table believing that the more typical type of Irons football from last season will be on the way back as confidence rises.

Tweeting his view, the co-chairman said: “Good news. Slowly but surely the problems are being solved 7 points from 3 games helps. Well done lads. dg

At the moment it’s all about points once the fear goes the flair will come. dg”

couldn’t care less if the penalty was soft. we were on the wrong end of several soft penalties last season (Leicester and Chelsea away spring to mind) so I really can’t see why its an issue. As for the woodwork, that’s why Hull are bottom of the league. When you have so many chances and lose, you deserve to be in the relegation zone. Until the window opens its all about points and only Chelsea and Manure got more points than us in the last week (bar today’s fixtures)

It’s about time, we got some luck. Last season penalties were given against us, which weren’t. So why can’t we get some for a change. COYI

It’s about time we had a few dodgy decisions go our way . Last season was full of decisions against us . Yes , we got more than just a bit lucky against Burnley & Hull but , what goes around comes around . We are playing awful football and no amount of luck will compensate that in the long run . We should be playing 4 4 2 anyway . All this 3 4 2 1 nonsense is counter productive when you look at the squad we have .
Something needs changing and soon . Either Manager or Mentality but , how ??
David , you need to realize and accept that the Stadium move has had an enormous effect on our football . And none of it good . If we can scrape through this season and stay in the Premiership ; what are our plans for next season ., carry on regardless!!. Or ??
Pretty sure it doesn’t need saying . Would be more of the same .

We can’t play 4 at the back until we have a right back, and as demonstrated clearly in the second half yesterday Kouatye can’t play there. if Sakho was fit 3-4-2-1 is fine. Carroll needs someone to run past him. With Obiang suspended v Swansea may be the opportunity to play Ayew/Fletcher up top with AC
