Half time: Hammers 1 Man City 0

|

James Ward-Prowse broke a fascinating first half deadlock with a fine header from a great Coufal cross in the 35th minute,

And City could have no complaints as the Hammers took the lead having battled their way into the game following a typical fast Man City start.

James Ward Prowse scores and Aguerd clears off line

Areola was forced to make a great save early on and the rebound shot was then magnificently cleared off the line by Coufal.

The Hammers keeper was forced to make another save from Foden before a great run from Emerson set up a chance which was saved by Ederson.

Then came the magic moment when Coufal burst down the right side, glanced up to see JWP closing in from the left and produced a fabulous cross for the midfielder to head home past a helpless Ederson.

The Hammers had earlier seen a Ward-Prowse corner cause panic before the visitors managed to clear.

But the opposition burst back after the Hammers goal when a cross from the left found Haaland close in but his shot was scooped off the line by Aguerd.
