Soucek back for the Hammers – Kudus on bench

David Moyes has recalled Tomas Soucek for the game against Manchester City with the Czech playing alongside Edson Alvarez as the Hammers seek a 350th Premier League win at home this afternoon.

It means that exciting Mo Kudus remains on the bench for today’s high profile encounter with Paqueta and James Ward-Prowsae making up the midfield.

Alphonse Areola remains in goal behind a defence  of Czech Republic international Vladimír Coufal and Emerson in the full-back positions, Zouma and Morocco star Nayef Aguerd at central defence.

Souček returns after missing the 1 September victory at Luton Town, having suffered a head injury in the 3-1 win at Brighton & Hove Albion the previous weekend.

Saïd Benrahma dropping to the’ bench with the, the front line consisting of Jarrod Bowen, and Jamaica international Michail Antonio.

Greece defender Konstantinos Mavropanos, who scored twice for his country against Gibraltar in a recent UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier, is fit after recovering from injury and is among the nine named substitutes.
