Hammer Bowen has no chance

by Hughie Southon

Jarrod Bowen looks to have absolutely no chance of making it into the England team for the Euro  qualifier against Italy this week.

In fact, given that he was virtually ignored on the right in a near meaningless friendly against Australia where Jack Grealish was the option preferred by the players – very few of those included have little chance either, the man City winger the exception!

I expect England to win as Italy may be missing three three of their best who are allegedly  being interviewed in relation to more betting irregularities.

Grealish is over hyped in my opinion and it seemed to me that Gareth Southgate simply bowed to widespread  public opinion by including Jarrod given his lack of action notably in the second half.

England invariably went left or backwards leaving our Hammer entirely isolated for the most of the match and even when he went more central he was again overlooked.

Southgate’s mystifying game plan

Given that when he was on the ball he helped set up two excellent goal chances, it was a mystifying game plan which had one wondering why he was still on the pitch at the end of 90 minutes.

Perhaps somebody needs to explain to the manager where the right side of the pitch actually is and tell the players!

Jarrod fulfilled a boyhood dream to play at Wembley but looks to have no chance at all against Italy.

Hope I’m wrong!
