Paqueta and football should learn from Rugby World Cup

Paqueta needs to watch the Rugby World Cup

Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love Lucas Paqueta and want him to stay with the Hammers for a very long time !

However, I hope he is taking a look at the Ruby Union World Cup and learning a thing or two from blokes who are being hammered out of their heads, getting up and carrying on as if nothing has happened.

We are very quick to take a pop at players from other clubs – Jack Grealish anyone? – who play act, but sadly Lucas has become guilty of this as his Premier League career has developed with us.

Play actor Grealish needs to watch Rugby World Cup…yes we know he is at City but this is a more appropriate image

I haven’t watched any rugby for a long time until Saturday when Argentine beat Wales and the All Blacks turned over the Irish.

The players of course were taking hammering after hammering without a word of complaint or play acting. Such a change and thus making the play acting from our top over paid footballers.

Let’s be frank about this…it made football look like a game for fairies.

The referee is heard explaining every decision and is called “Sir” by the players , there’s no VAR as the decisions are clearly shown.

All very old school; and there is nothing wrong with that – our game has much to learn from rugby union – that’s a certainty.

Well said. Rugby players are men, footballers are, well….not (apart from Daws who could switch codes).
TMO is better than VAR, refs far more professional in their communication than in football.
Players are more respectful despite the fact it is as passionate a game helped by the fact a penalty can be moved 10m forward for any player arguing.
Football is to self important to learn from rugby unfortunately.

Yes you totally right. The top players do need to have a look at themselves.
It’s a big reason that the real Football doesn’t kick off in Aus & NZ
