Hammer could be forced to leave

|

Hammer Sead Haksabanovic has told a Swedish court he could lose his contract with West Ham if a driving ban remains in force. On March 18 this year Haksabanovic was caught speeding as he drove at 52 km h on a road where the speed limit was 30 km/h.

In April, the Swedish Transport Agency decided to revoke the 19-year driving license. The Swedish report claims this has put him in a difficult situation that may lead him to leave West Ham.

The administrative court’s verdict means that Haksabanovic has to spend six months in Sweden in order to get back his driving license. The player appealed against the verdict and claims that the administrative authority should issue him a warning instead of revoking his driver’s license. In his statement to the court, he explained that the risk is high that West Ham may break his contract if the verdict remains.

In the appeal, West Ham representatives stated that he is dependent on his driving license on a daily basis to be able to attend training and matches. The appeal was dismissed by the court and the driving ban remains in force.

The bloke is on £20k a week and can’t afford a taxi for six months?

  • mooneydick says:

Mark Noble remembers going to and from training on a bus.

  • Clive says:

I’m sure he can afford a chauffeur, or even slum it in the back of a taxi.

  • Hammer580 says:

One weeks wage would pay for a chauffeur for a few months. He’s not in any hardship. Probably a good lesson the be learned about responsibility here.

  • Innocuous Sparrow says:

I despise these self entitled tw*ts who think they are both above the law and that their pathetic arguments should be believed by people who are not as stupid as they are. The court should have increased his ban for wasting their time with an appeal and failure to accept responsibility for his actions.

  • The Demon says:

He could always take a driving test for a UK licence……sounds like he might need a few extra lessons on speeding though.

  • Willtell says:

What a ridiculous world we live in now where 52kph or 31mph is considered so dangerous one gets a 6 month ban for it. No wonder so many Swedes live anywhere but Sweden…

  • blimeylimey says:

52 kph!!!!!! Maniac!!! they should just lock him up and throw away the key…..
West Ham could have an on call cab for him for 6 months and dock it out his wages, although that’s Uber unlikely…..

Clearly an idiot, if the report is true, probably will feel a right tw@t when it sinks in how idiotic he feels, perhaps he should have spent some money on proper legal advice.

Without knowing the road and conditions this speeding could reckless or not. Either way, if I was defending myself in court I would do just that; defend myself. Don’t think he’s contract is at risk as that would be a stupid move from our club – probably just an argument to try to reduce the sentence. What worries me is the notion of having to stay in Sweden for 6 months, that just don’t reasonable with me?
