Hammer departs for relegation battle

|

West Ham winger Dan Kemp joined League Two strugglers Stevenage on loan for the remainder of their league season on transfer deadline day although the news was largely over shadowed by Jarrod Bowen transfer saga on the day.

The 21-year-old has been a strong contributor for West Ham U23s this season, finding the net eight times in just 15 appearances in Premier League 2 Division 2, whilst also scoring twice for the Hammers in the EFL Trophy before Christmas.

He was also recently named amongst first-team manager David Moyes’ substitutes for the FA Cup fourth round game at home to West Brom. Capped by England at Under-20 level. In total, the attacking midfielder has made 72 appearances for the Irons’ Under-23s, which have yielded 22 goals and nine assists.

Kemp made his debut on Saturday when he cam on as a 60th minute substitute against Leyton Orient but his new side lost 3-0 at home to leave them at the bottom of League 2.

I think loaning players out is Sullivan’s way of keeping his wage bill down, they got 3 million from West Brom for Diangana that is why he was not recalled in January.

I can’t add to that Simon!!! that post came from the heart, Holland and Diangana to name just two would be brilliant to have on the bench right now, pace pace pace

Great post Simon. Perhaps the truth is that they are so bad nobody wants them > A young lad called Coventry is out on loan but he is a great prospect and has more to offer than the majority of our midfield and is certainly better than anyone on the bench . The lunatics are running the asylum .

Sorry folks but now is the time to prepare for life in the championship. I know all about sounding negative and all that but realistically can you name a team in this league that we have more than an even chance of beating. I wrote a piece on Claretandhugh a lot earlier in the season when some hammers were expecting top 4, 5, or 6 finish suggesting that a top 10 may have been the best we could hope for. If we are relegated the likes of Anderson, Lanzini. Formals, Haller and a few others would be of no use what so ever. A mix of young players and battle hardened older pros would be the answer.

    Really this MUST STOP NOW.
This idea of sending our top und23’s out on loan is really ridiculous. Half the und23’s are out on loan.
This not only makes the sparkling und 23 side weak, but also put the kids out of immediate sight and consistent first hand evaluations.
The idea that the loan period makes them better? Show me one player recently that came back and walked into the 1st team. What a joke … and seriously bad game player by the manager and owners.
Why not send out the useless 1st steamers such as Masuaku, Sanchez, Jack Sprat, Reid, Fornals and Ajeti. Why they still hanging around, earning huge salaries … the kids get discarded?
Nonetheless, everything of the best Dan. Show your home club what they would miss. And do well for Sevenage.
    God bless.
