Hammer in running for Dons job

West Ham’  Under 23 coach Dmitri Halajko is rumoured to front runner to become Assistant Manager at League two club AFC Wimbledon.

According to the Wimbledon  ‘The Wombles had a Dream Podcast’  He is understood to have had held talks with the club and could be unveiled as soon as next week. England U17 manager Justin Cochrane is also in the running they say.

The Hammer announced the appointment of Halajko as the Academy Under-23 Lead Coach in 2019 under Manuel Pellegrini.

He joined from Leicester City, where he had held the position of Head of Player Development for Under-9s to Under-23s since February 2017. Before that he held various roles at Norwich City coaching the U18 and U23’s as well as Academy manager.

He is qualified FA Coach Education, with more than 22 years’ experience in junior player development and coaching.
