Update on Soucek’s ‘long and deep cut’

|

Tomas Soucek is expected to be ok for the weekend clash with Manchester City despite suffering a nasty cut over the eye during the match against Spurs.

The Hammers were bossing the game until the Czech midfielder was involved in a clash of heads with Davinson Sanchez which led to him being patched up before being able to continue.

The Czech international put his body on the line when defending a corner which resulted in a bloody injury.

However, we learned this evening that he and the club fully expect him to be okay for the match in Manchester.

The player had the cut glued back together which is the replacement procedure for stitches these days.

But it was desribed as a “long and deep cut” and although he was a warrior in continuing the Hammers  have suffered as a result with Spurs coming into the game to a much greater extent following the incident.

Warrior is right a machine & will be needed against Man City. Puts is body in the line him & Rice. No falling over & rolling he is a proper footballer who gives it all. Think coming up the harder why helps him always wanting to get better wasn’t a ‘big’ prospect as youth but took his chances.
Him & Rice new deals in summer can’t lose!

That clash of heads would have put Salah in a coma, the next time a player cries out because somebody has made contact with their dandruff, remind them of Soucek.
