Hammer Winston Reid has joined EFL Championship club Brentford on loan until the end of the 2020/21 season the club have confirmed this morning.
The defender, who has made 222 appearances for West Ham United since joining the Irons in 2010, will hope to boost the Bees’ chances of gaining promotion to the Premier League.
Brentford sit third in the table, two points behind Swansea City in the second automatic promotion place and six behinds leaders Norwich City, with a game in hand on both.
Reid, who spent a period on loan with MLS club Sporting Kansas City in the United States in 2020, has been working his way back to full fitness after suffering a serious knee injury in 2018.
A statement on the Club’s official website says “Everyone at West Ham United wishes Winston the very best for his loan spell at Brentford Community Stadium”.
Reid has a contract with West Ham until June 2023 and is thought to earn around £70,000 in wages.
Agree with you all PetemooreriteCat. Good luck Winston – pleased to see you back.

Always gave 100% for the Hammers.
Good luck Winston.
Really wish Winston well and hope he enjoys being at Brentford, they are a genuine club. Thanks for many years loyal service, putting everything on the line for us and taking the big injury hit that all players dread.
Winston Reid is a great warrior who served us well for many seasons and I wish him every success with Brentford
I’m sorry that this looks like the end for Winston at this club but I can only wish him the very best for the rest of his playing career because as well as being a loyal servant to this club he put his body on the line for us and was the Reliable Rock that our defence was built on for so many years.
Winston was the BEST part of Avram Grant’s disastrous spell with our club.
One of our all-time unsung heroes and favourites, best of luck for the future Winston and I hope that you manage to stay injury-free!
