Hammers may be set for Fofana move

|

West Ham may be set to move in on brilliant Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana who was involved in the club’s pre-season game against Arsenal last night.

However, they  have  fierce competition from three other clubs who have agreed deals with the French club for the 24 year old.

Atletico Madrid, Seville and Bayer Leverkusen are all desperately keen to sign the player but it is though the 6ft 1 in midfielder is enthusiastic to play in the Premier League.

The Monaco No 19 is a defensive midfielder and clearly very highly regarded by several of Europe’s top clubs but at this stage the Hammers are yet to move although they have discussed his position with those close to him.

He joined Monaco in 2020 and made 111 appearances with his contract with the club running out next June although the French outfit hold a one year contract on it.

He has played for France on 10 occasions.

Funny how no other Premiership teams are ever linked to our targets. I except we’re in a different supermarket than the Man City’s and Liverpools of this league, but surely if this lad and the one from Man City were as good as we’re told teams such as Brighton and Villa would be in competition against us
