Hammer Mubama start in Germany

|

Angelo Ogbonna will lead the Hammers into the game against Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.

Ogbonna forms part of a back four alongside Germany international Thilo Kehrer, Kurt Zouma and left-back Emerson.

In front of him, Tomáš Souček, Flynn Downes and Paquetá fill the midfield positions, as the Brazilian builds his match minutes after making his pre-season return at Rennes a week ago.

Jarrod Bowen and Saïd Benrahma start in the wide forward positions, supporting Academy star Divin Mubama, who has already made an impact this summer with goals against Perth Glory, Tottenham Hotspur and Dagenham & Redbridge.

On the bench, Michail Antonio and Ben Johnson appear in a matchday squad for the first time since representing Jamaica and England U21 respectively deep into the summer.

They are joined by plenty of experienced options for boss David Moyes, with the likes of Alphonse Areola, Vladimïr Coufal, Nayef Aguerd, Pablo Fornals and Danny Ings all available.
