Hammer of the year poll

|

With just over two weeks to go to the West Ham Players awards at the InterContinental London O2 we ask who you are likely to vote for as your Hammer of the year.

The awards sponsored by Betway will be held on Wednesday 8th of May with individual packages costing £354 for a place at the table or £742 per person if you want to dine with  Manuel Pellegrini on his table.

West Ham legend Ronnie Boyce will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award at the 2018/19 Player Awards.

We all know it is a two horse race between Fabianski and Rice so they are the two choices in today’s poll.

Fab & Rice have both been crucial to our season.
Parr of me wants to pick Fan bc he has been great in goal. Most saves in PL 2nd most high grabs is a well rounded GK good in corners organising his line & has been solid 7/10 all season.
But I pick Rice bc if we took him out our squad we would be in relegation fight imo. Not only his composure, leadership, great break up play, can Make a lovely tackle & does but has what 1 yellow card bc he reads game so well & intercepts ball or recoveries so he doesn’t have to wait to tackle.
With all that he also his crucial in our link up from defence mid to attacking players. Lanzini spoke about that. And without him Obaing Noble couldn’t do it together.
Tho he will probably get young player of season I think for reason if you lf you take Fab out yes Adrian will let in a lot more goal but Rice we don’t score as many & he just gets better every game even with having a media mad season.

All these said I wish we had a defence player of the year too.
And I don’t like that Sterling or B Silva are in PFA young player if the year. If you are in the Senior PFA u shouldn’t be able to be in youth. Bc that should be more break in players. For me someone like Wan Bissaka or Maddison should take theei spots.
But I’d love to see Rice when that award. I hope they change it 23yo is fine but they should make better rules bc should be more break thru player
