Hammers are keen on former Chelsea man

The Hammers are keen on former Chelsea man Timo Werner according to ExWHUEmployee. He claims the player was at the centre of discussions in the summer after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge. Now with the Irons desperate  for a striker this winter he is again allegedly on the radar and Tim Steidten may be the man to persuade him that the Irons is the club for him – we shall see. The striker returned to RB Leipzig after two years at Chelsea where he was unable to make an impression.

But our understanding is that he would love to return to the Premier League and that the Hammers are set to make an effort to bring him into the club. No doubt other PL club will show an interest but with Steidten leading talks it may be that a loan spell at the hammers is possible where it will show us quite a lot before a permanent deal decision were to be made.

Reporting Ex said: “I linked us quite heavily to a former Premier League international forward, who could be making a return to the league at the end of the window – but didn’t name him at the time. Whilst I have revealed his name a couple of times since, I can reconfirm that this player was Werner. He was a consideration for the club in the summer because he was struggling to start in Germany where he plays for RB Leipzig and appeared out of favour there and his agent mentioned his name to us.”
