Hammers can leapfrog to the heights on Saturday

|

West Ham may have a great opportunity of rising as high as seventh place when they take on Fulham on Saturday.

And thankfully we will know by the time our mach is over on Saturday rather than having to wait over a long footballing weekend.

Fulham await of course and the first priority is to nail the Cottagers in their own back yard.

But should we do so we can start to dream of the top spots should results fall in our favour involving the teams above us.

As we stand right now the Irons sit on 21 points behind Wolves (22), Leicester (22), Bournemouth 23 and Everton on 24.

With Wolves and Bournemouth meeting at Molineux a draw would take them to 24 and give us a chance of leapfrogging them with a good win at Craven Cottage.

Leicester are at Palace whilst Everton have to visit the Manchester City in the most difficult match of the day and of the season for the Toffees.

The prediction game is of course very tricky indeed but the fact that the chance is there after our dreadful start is something about which we can all feel pretty positive.

Manuel Pellegrini has already made it clear he’s looking at the top six and as a result the weekend game looks pretty important if such ambitions are eventually to be fulfilled.
