Hammers collapse to one point off relegation zone

|

Palace 2 Irons 1

That was the game Pellegrini couldn’t lost – he did and it has to be over now!

Another game lost from a winning position – this time via a piece of brilliance from Ayew who went past both Balbuena and Ogbonna with the minimum of fuss – to ensure Palace scored the first double over the Irons this season.

Returned and did well

We are now just one place above the relegation zone one point clear of Aston Villa with virtually all the players back from injury.

Roberto was back between the sticks after David Martin failed a fitness test but don’t blame him – he did well and without him it might have been three ot four.

The truth is  we simply aren’t good enough and the time has come for everybody to accept that after spending what amounts to a small fortune in West Ham terms, Pellegrini has failed and will lead the club into the Championship if he isn’t told “Thanks and goodbye.”

It simply has to be done.

Once again we took the lead, this time  through a beautiful Robert Snodgrass effort before we were hauled back and beaten by goals from Kouyate and Ayew.

It’s impossible to get angry now – there’s just this awful sense of total resignation that if the Chilean doesn’t get handed his P45 West Ham are heading for one of the worst disasters in their history…Championship football in front of a half empty London Stadium.

Michail Antonio was excellent, Seb Haller was subbed, and Manu Lanzini reappeared for a few tippy tappy moments, but let’s be honest Palace were the better team, just as they had been at the London Stadium.

And when we have to admit after our ninth defeat of the season that teams such as Roy Hodgson’s are better than this expensively assembled Hammers outfit something has to give – and that is Manurl Pellegrini along with his mate Senor Husillos.

Trouble? You bet we’re in trouble!

Palace were slightly the better side until we scored then they were much the better side! Unless we get someone in who can galvanize the players we have we are simply hoping for 3 teams worse than us!

1 word somes us up …PATHETIC……

Agree entirely, let’s hope the decision makers do too

That has to be it Hugh.We will go down with this manager.Awful 1st half and back to the usual dross after a stay of execution. Is anybody surprised. Not me I knew this was coming..We desperately need a new manager to lift or get rid of so many under achievers.Truly awful against a terrible Palace team who never score twice unless they play us.

Please just remind me which team had a 11 day break…. 🤔
15 pts dropped from winning position this year..
We played against an injury ravaged Palace side.
Anybody who is anybody just needs to play against the “pedestrians” new nickname for our side, to score… Ask Kouyate… or Ayew..
Miracle that Connor Wickham didn’t sore when put through… OMG.

Very fortunate to not lose by more..
Cannot blame the keeper for this loss..

I knew the result versus Southampton was unfortunately just a reason for our owners not to get rid of Pellegrini… If he doesn’t go after Leicester then I’m seriously thinking of throwing in the towel after 50 years… Until he goes that is…

Zabaletta, ( solid at times) but way past it, pushed up at the wrong time, dived in on many occasions, skinned on the outside correctly booked.. WAS A TOP PRO AND PLAYER, NOT ANYMORE!!!

Cresswell again caught out for first goal / him and Ogbonna ( who was our best player imho besides this incident).. Didn’t like the altercation between him and Noble who was solid for most of the game..
Rice going backwards by his standards…
Snoddy was average ( besides the goal) how many of crosses hit the first line of defence..
Haller weak…. Antonio tried hard again but not a centre forward, lacks tactical skill but a real trier..
Formals… Mmm very average, jury still out but needs to be given time…
OMW.. Bring on Leicester, Vatdy and all at home where we are pathetic!!!!!

  • Rickyb says:

Any team with Roberto, Cresswell, ogbonna, balbuena, zabaleta, noble and snodgrass in at there age and pace ain’t exactly going to be high flying and that’s with a week or so off from everyone else!! Just sack pellegrini now and start all over again because we can’t go into the transfer market with him in charge!! Still can’t believe we got a manager in who’s last job was in China!!!!!!

  • raymond gritz says:

The way we are playing, we will do well to come bottom !!!

  • Anthos Ladomatos says:

Manuel from Faulty Towers would motivate this pub team more than Pellegrini.

  • spindoc says:

You can’t blame the manager for players’ individual mistakes, or the brilliance of the opposition. But surely the manger must take full responsibility for consistently failing to organise and train a team to attack with purpose, pace and movement, rather than all those sideway and square passes that go absolutely nowhere.

No team is too good to go down but if Pellegrini can’t manage to get anywhere near the full potential out of this squad, someone else must be given a chance. The only question is who. Realistically, I’ll run with Moyes.

  • Garry says:

This is as bad as Avram Grant and Zola. Manager has to go now or we are going down.if the board cannot see that then they must be Ok with the fact that we could get relegated. The Club must have No drive or a sense of acceptance about losing games , if I was in charge I would be fuming to lose 1 game let alone 8 out of 10 . It’s pathetic to accept mediocrity and not stop a ship from sinking while you still can

  • Azzurri1 says:

Why do we continue to have a manager who is totally inept at what he does, remember this is a guy who gave Jack Wilshere a 3 year contract!!! On £100.000 per week. I have never been as despondent as I am today. When I think about the players we have on disgusting weekly salaries, they should hang alongside Pellegrini, their heads in shame. Truly disgusting. And I fear for us, no passion, no leadership, no direction and above all no effort. A total disgrace.

  • Dusty Miller says:

Thank God I don’t personally own West Ham ! One wrong move in appointing a manager is like making a wrong turn in car and going down a one way street the wrong way? You end up carrying on, or make a u turn ? Now thats our owners dilemma? their choice not mine ? But looking at lots of fan based blogs on different websites , want Pellegrini out and tomorrow couldn’t be quick enough?? Stick or twist Mr chairman and owners ?? If the supporters can see it , then the chairman and owners who claim to be supporters must see it too ??
We’re heading for a Avram Grant catastrophe season again I.M.O . So they should do something now! or reap what they have sown, and learn to live with that decision they have to make and they alone have to make it and stand by it ??? ( stick or twist??)

  • Whammer1 says:

I am in the same train of thought as Spindoc..get Moyes in NOW..he done it before so why not again!!BUT as I previously commented if the Dave’s went knocking on his door he should tell them to jog off..harshly treated IMO not giving him at least a full season to blend HIS squad together not what he inherited! ! He kept Everton in top 8 and Uefa cup sometimes on a “controlled budget” any one has to be better than Pellergrini at this moment .
The Championship be considered. .fuming 😤 😤

  • Whammer1 says:

    The Championship is beconing
