Hammers confident of FA cup progression

|

Nearly eighty-nine per cent of West Ham supporters believes West Ham will overcome AFC Wimbledon this evening in Surrey. Five per cent believe AFC Wimbledon will achieve a giant-killing by beating the Hammers and six per cent expecting a draw in a Claret and Hugh poll of over 500 readers held earlier today.

A draw would force a FA Cup replay causing West Ham’s game against Liverpool to be moved back to Sunday. AFC Wimbledon and West Ham have met just once previously, with the Hammers winning 3-1 last August.

West Ham has been eliminated from two of their last four FA Cup ties against League One teams, losing 2-0 at Wigan Athletic in the fourth round last season. Against non-Premier League sides in the FA Cup and League Cup, West Ham winger Robert Snodgrass has been involved in 24 goals in 18 appearances (10 goals, 14 assists).

Poll Results:  Number of votes: 512  West Ham win  456 (89.06%) Wimbledon Win  26 (5.08%) Draw 30 (6.86%)
