Hammers continue to track winger

|

VerdiDavid Moyes is continuing to show interest in Bologna star Simone Verdi as he bids to bring in a right sided midfielder.

Despite Vedi not pushing for a move from his club, the Hammers will continue to pursue a player they have been scouting over recent weeks.

As reported here last night Moyes is also set to give on loan Robert Snodgrass a pre-season whilst he assesses the Scot but Verdi remains on his list of potential targets.

Verdi has scored five goals and four assists in Serie A and both Napoli and Inter Milan are among other clubs watching him closely.

Bologna’s Sporting director Riccardo Bigon claims Verdi  is happy where he is and is not pushing for a move.

He said: “Simone doesn’t want to move in January and the club also don’t want to lose him.

“We are not considering the possibility of giving him away at the moment and we want to finish the league with the same squad.”

Verdi only signed a new deal with Bologna this year and is contracted to them until 2021.

Is this dejavu Slav was always buying wingers we do not need a winger we need a holding midfielder & a creative midfielder as well as cover at the back, I think Moyes should get Oxford back from Germany he can play in the back four or midfield he will be a lot quicker than what we currently have also January is a sellers market & I cannot see Sullivan payiing silly money for average players, He will more interested in doing loan deals from top flight clubs those in relegation battles will not want to part with their best players.

These stories about goals and assists are pretty rubbish without qualifying the data.

Four goals and five assists might be good in 15 games for a winger, but as a career total it’s not up to much.

Best to say ‘five goals and four assists in x games in ” so people can make a reasoned judgment

Even AC’s goal rate looks good without a qualifier!

He doesn’t want to come to PL at all he has said at least not in Jan.
But if we sell Ayew Sahko we might need a RW cover.
I think same tho we need a creator CM DM mostly & maybe a full back.

I’d really wish we would go after Elynoussoui
And we were linked w Hamza Barry who for £5m be a shrewd signing has pace two footed CM that can pass & create.
Why not go for someone like that.
