Hammers defender in bad injury blow

|

Sam Byram is on his way back to West Ham after suffering what appears to be a serious injury whilst on loan at Nottingham Forest.

The news was first broken on his radio show last night by ExWHUemployee and this morning the club has confirmed that the right back was indeed injured in the League Cup game against Newcastle.

Sam produced an brilliant tackle during the match but was then helped from the field after it became clear that he was struggling badly from the clash.

And a Hammers insider revealed this morning that he is now on his way back to the West Ham for a medical assessment but that the signs are not good for the 24 year old who has had a dreadful time with injuries over the past couple of years.

We were told it looked likely this was a cruciate knee injury and that it would of course require surgery although there were no certainties until the medical staff has run the rule of the defender.
