Hammers dismiss Bilic sacking speculation

|

bilic-pressureMorning reports that Slaven Bilic’s job is “hanging by a thread” and that he today heads into crisis talks with the board are 100 per cent untrue.

The report says the board will decide today whether to persist with Bilic or to give him the two games after Sunday’s Liverpool fixture – both at home to Burnley and Hull – to save his job.

Also untrue!

ClaretandHugh can reveal exclusively that there is absolutely no appetite to fire the 48 year old manager whom the board believe still has the ability and talent to turn events around.

We were told just a few minutes ago: “These reports are simply untrue. There is no meeting and the suggestions that Slaven Bilic is facing any sort of talks at the moment are wrong.

“We all knew when the present run of fixtures came up how hard they were going to be and although Saturday’s result was utterly awful no knees are jerking.

“We have some very winnable games coming up and we have players coming back. There is no panic and the reports about the manager’s position are misinformed.”

‘There is no meeting’….well maybe there should be…..a meeting at the very least….this can’t continue, we have all known there has been something wrong since the start of the season. So now we know the over paid nancies don’t fancy it enough.

Of course there will be a meeting ,, probably a meeting in a sequence of meetings . Any owner of any club would be having regular meetings with its staff . Goes without saying .

    • kevin says:

There has already been countless meetings . That’s why we are we are . They were obviously thinking about the Club with the clubs best interest at heart . But , they have gotten it wrong somewhere down the line .
The big problem they have is when to leap and knee jerk a little .
Now would be good . Nerves , money , investment , dreams , profiteering ! , call it what you want but , now is the time to react before it gets too late . Remember when we asked Trevor to take over ? , it worked , apart from it was too late .
It’s a catch 22 problem . BS was shown the door ( shouldn’t have been imo ) under fan pressure . SB is getting closer to the same door ( should be imo ) under increasing fan pressure . We need a big time manager that can handle big time pressure . Slaven Bilic no matter how nice a person or no matter how the fans love him , is not the right man at the moment . There are managers out there if West Ham are willing to go get Him . Don’t forget that Slaven was not by any means our first choice manager . Fourth if memory serves .

      • GW says:

Kevin he wasn’t shown the door and was out of contract.. He left us with a wreck of a forward on a 6 year contract who was affiliated to a agent that was a good friend of his. This blind loyalty to him is staggering even after being caught out trying to skim off the top and getting the sack from the job he always wanted!! You retracted your support of Slav after losing to Bournemouth at home last year and called for the slugs return then so excuse me if I don’t agree with what your saying now.

        • kevin says:

So it shows I wasn’t wrong then .

          • kevin says:

I never called for the return of SA . Show me the message where I said that

          • GW says:

So you’ve retracted your support again then Kevin? No doubt you’ll be banging your Big Sam drum again now eh? Laughable 🙂

          • kevin says:

You still haven’t shown me the comment where i said what you are accusing of .
But just in case there is any doubt and to put your mind at ease ; losing BS was a disaster for West Ham .
It should be appreciated what he did ..
Would I like him to return ?? , that’s an open question now that we are facing relegation again and need a Manager with a track record ..

          • kevin says:

What exactly did Big Sam Alladyce do that was so wrong .
It’s a question to which not a single supporter has ever given a constructive answer .
I am saying Bilic should Go .. I am NOT saying we should have Alladyce return .
But the question still burns . What exactly , apart from get us promoted and maintain our Premiership status did he really do wrong .?.. apart from annoy a few fans that didn’t like our style . Whatever that was !! .
Do you realize just how many years we have been in the ping pong yo yo league . Time to wake up ,, it’s not about being nice , it’s about survival .
Gung ho and going nuts without results don’t work .

          • Stratford E20 says:

We were moving to Stratford Kevin. Seats had to be sold. That would not have happened if Sam was in charge.

  • norfolkhammer says:

perhaps Gold & Sullivan & Brady should have a meeting between themselves & see there out of there depth sold us a dream without all the problems that as gone with the stadium they only see £££ not fans.

  • DublinIronsFan says:

The devil is in the detail – ‘we have some very winnable games coming up’. If we fail to win them (Hull, Swansea etc), I would say they will change their tune and dismiss him to allow a new Manager to buy in (more probably loan in) his players in January. The owners longstanding reputation for patience with Managers may not save BIlic as the pressure is more intense now for us to stay up. Pity if he goes, but we cannot continue like this, if 3 players are missing, in Sakho; Antonio and particularly Cresswell, we are just Championship standard even with Payet and Lanzinii.

    • kevin says:

As things go ; I wouldn’t call any game winnable right now . Maybe you have been watching different games to me !! . Every team we face are of the belief we are an easy three points . And to be honest , we are .
Now is the time for West Ham to turn it around . But who knows what will happen .
A poor show over these coming weeks will / should see Bilic on his bike .

      • Stratford E20 says:

I fully agree. I can’t see where we are going to get a win when we haven’t dominated a single game under Bilic in a season and a half.

  • kevin says:

If we don’t get at least six points from our next three games then , it should be Goodbye Slaven . Football is a harsh business and fans want to celebrate wins not failures .
I completely understand fans backing Thier manager but , there comes a time when reality must prevail over blind faith .

  • GW says:

All I’ll say is if that odious slug returns and his heralded as our saviour I’ll give up 🙂

    • kevin says:

Don’t worry , GW . That would never happen . It would end West Ham . With the bad feeling toward him rightly or wrongly it would be immensely negative . No matter what your feelings are reality is reality . The move we made to the LS was needed ; it’s been handled poorly and we all know it . Too much too soon too quickly . Just hope we survive this season intact. If we change the Manager that’s ok with me , if we don’t , then that’s also ok with me. Getting really tired of trying to express my feelings and love for West Ham .
Seen too much and felt too much emotion now ,, more than I can handle to be honest .
