Hammers earn £110m for finishing sixteenth

|

West Ham missed out on finishing fiftteenth after a draw with Aston Villa this afternoon.

All Premier League league clubs receive an equal share worth £82,511,519 based on last season’s split.

Merit payments range from £1,918,519 for Norwich City in last place to  £38,370,360 to Liverpool as Premier League Champions.

The merit payment for finishing in 16th place is worth £9,592,590.

Last season West Ham received a merit payment of £21,103,698 for finishing 13th in the 2018/2019 season.

Clubs also earn facility fees for having games shown on UK TV worth £1,219,828

Last year 16 West Ham games were shown on British TV worth an extra £18,913,446 to the Hammers

This year West Ham had 15 games set for UK TV before the final 9 were shown on TV with 8 on Sky Sports, 5 on BT Sport and two on Amazon Prime. The later nine games after football resumed are unlikley to receive full facility fees so possibly £17,794,343 in TV fees for the 15 games.

West Ham’s total PL TV money for finishing 16th should reach £111,816,970 for this season.

Last season West Ham earned £122,528,663 so it’s a drop of £12,630,211

And before anyone has an idea we have £110m to spend on transfers, the TV money doesn’t even cover the wage bill which stood at £135m per season last year.

Why do you keep saying we finished 13th last season? We finished 10th?

  • Pacific Claret says:

Another vintage West Ham performance. Disjointed, half-hearted.

Without some new players and more motivation, it is hard to see much changing next season.

    Sean

Based on the fee per game the facility fees are worth just under 18.3 mio for the 15 games shown, slightly above the number quoted.

Also you cant categorically state the tv money is a 12 mio drop as this is only correct if we receive ZERO for the last 9 games which i doubt would be the case.

As if we would start saying we have that money to spend Sean! We are around the fifteenth richest club in the world with one of the largest group of supporters in the world and a millionaire and billionaire owners plus another millionaire Brady. Disliked by most at west hams massive supporters and have taken us nowhere except taken the proverbial p–s . Just escaped relegation and time now to either get in the rest of players needed to put this club where this mob said we would be years ago when leaving boleyn. So either they for last time finish the job of getting in the quality and stop messing about or sell up to many buyers who will push us on and buy this London stadium and tuen it into a top football stadia which is possible when money talks. Last chance for this bunch and if you dont peint this response it wont be a surprise by the many who say your a board spokesman which I actually think your not .
