Hammers enter race for Championship sensation – report

|

West Ham have entered the race to sign Ben Brereton Diaz from Blackburn Rovers amid his sensational form in the Championship, according to a new report.

TalkSPORT reports that the Irons have now joined Leeds United in the race to sign the Chile international, who has gone from strength to strength at Blackburn.

This season, he has scored 17 goals in 22 games in the Championship, and is capable of playing as a centre-forward and a left winger.

He has been central to Rovers’ promotion push, with the club currently in the play-offs, and Leeds had been touted as potential suitors.

But it now appears that the Irons are interested too, with Brereton Diaz valued at around £20m.

The Hammers, of course, are desperate to sign a striker in January to provide support to Mikey Antonio, and bringing in a player who can also play in another option would give David Moyes some added tactical flexibility.
