Hammers eye league jump after today’s results

|

Today’s results left the Irons looking at the unlikely but heady prospect of moving into eighth or ninth position should they beat Southampton .

The first result to go our way was ironically the Spurs thumping of Bournemouth 5-0 which left Eddie Howe’s team in 11th on 26 points but with a vastly inferior goal difference to us on minus six.

Wolves remain in 10th following a late equaliser at Fulham where the result turned out 1-1 but they too can be overtaken by the Irons given their have 26 points whilst we are on 24 with an identical minus two goal difference.

Watford sit above them on 27 with a zero goal difference of zero and Everton in eighth (goal difference plus two ) following their 5-1 away crushing of Burnley.

Anything higher than 10th place is probably unlikely of course but we travel to the Clarets on Sunday whilst Watford entertain Newcastle and Everton travel to Brighton.
