Hammers get Ogbonna injury verdict

|

Angelo_Ogbonna_BGR-ITA_2012West Ham have received ‘slightly worse’ news than expected on Angelo Ogbonna following the scan on the injury he picked up against Newcastle United.

ClaretandHuigh has learned exclusively this afternoon that he has pulled his hamstring and ย is expected to be out for around three weeks.

The club was hopeful that the scan would show something relatively minor but we were told ย by a top club source that the player has indeed picked up a hamstring injury which is likely to sideline him until after the international break in October.

We were told exclusively: “Yes, it is a hamstring and we would expect that out keep him out for three week – ish!”

Earlier we had been told that given the player had no need of crutches and had looked comfortable after the game there was optimism he would have done something less serious.

However, although the news is less encouraging than hoped, the club is well placed in the position with James Tomkins, James Collins and Reece Oxford as back up in the position.

Shame if he misses Chelski at home because he would control Costa, the rest we can cope with, hope we start Ginge this week with Tomorrow at right back but think we will leave it as it was when we came off on Monday

Shame for the guy but we can cover it now which is a nice feeling for once.I like the look of Ogbonna, reckon he will be good for us once he gets a run in the team alongside Reid.Really useful if it means we have Tonks as an option at RB,the best option for me at the moment over Jenks.

One position we definately aint short on players now is CB,many options.Dont think i would fancy letting Aguero & Silva loose on The Ginger Pele if they both play. They will run rings round him imo,lol ๐Ÿ˜‰

Aint seen you onWetpants for a few days P45,you aint on there anymore?? Did a blinding job of turning it into a ‘no banter’ zone from what i have seen.Hardcore football talk only if you pls.Guess the ‘We know eachother in real life’ mob got what they wanted anyway.Seems to have alienated quite a few people though.Me included, cant be bothered to go somewhere where you have to be so politically correct or big brother & his sidekicks will come down on you like a ton of bricks.Big own goal they have scored,Shame ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ogbonna looked strong, comfortable on the ball, read the game well and made a couple of good interceptions I think he could become a great player for us, shame he’s injured so early in the season when a run of games would have been beneficial for him. It’s nice to know we have cover though and don’t need to panic as we now have a squad of players all capable of doing their jobs…..can’t remember ever feeling so at ease and confident in our ability as I do now. Especially with Billic at the helm, wanted him from the get go and so glad we got him.
