Hammers have weekend off

|
West Ham have a rare free weekend in pre-season training. With as many as ten first-team players either enjoying post-international duty or UEFA Euro 2020 breaks or working their way through individual fitness programmes, it makes little sense to field the same senior players so soon again, having played tonight and last Friday at Dundee FC.

Issa Diop and Arthur Masuaku are working on indivdual training programmes and were missing from tonight’s doubleheader.

The squad will be back at it next week two pre-season matches away to EFL Championship side Reading on Wednesday evening, then at Scottish Premiership giants Celtic next Saturday afternoon.  The Hammers then travel to west London to help Premier League new boys Brentford officially open their new stadium on Saturday 31 July.

The Saturday after that (8th August) will be the Betway cup at the London Stadium with a top European side that has qualified for the Champions League next season.

Does anyone know why Arthur and Issa are having individual training?
Did they report back overweight, carrying injury or health issues per chance?
