Hammers hit history with magical run

We are now in the UEFA history books !

Our West Ham’s  winning run from the group stages to the quarter-finals is officially the longest winning streak of any English team in the entire history of UEFA club competitions.

Before anybody starts saying that it is only the “European Conference League” it still is something to be proud of.

And remember they have not all been pushovers as we have met established clubs with European pedigree such as Anderlecht and Steaua Bucharest (FCSB) and put them to the sword.

Ok, I do agree that the standard of opposition can be lower in the Conference League but only in the early group stages.

We have had precious little to crow about recently, but given the quality of some of the English teams in Europe down the decades it is a welcome statistic.

It should be a source of pride for all West Ham fans and is a record that will likely remain for many years to come.
