Hammers looking to offload defender
West Ham United are reportedly eager to part ways with Brazilian defender Luizao during the January transfer window.
Having witnessed the player in action during the U21 game against Wycombe Wanderers, the news doesn’t come as a surprise. West Ham deployed a back three at Adams Park, and Luizao was the least impressive among them.
Whilst Michael Forbes was at fault for Wycombe’s second goal, he otherwise performed well after a nervous start. Kaelan Casey looked confident on the right side of defence, but 21-year-old Luizao appeared to struggle the most.
Hammers looking to offload Luizao back to Brazil?
Therefore, it’s not shocking to learn about reports suggesting that he’s likely to return to South America following an unsuccessful stint in England.
Despite joining West Ham just 12 months ago, Luizao has found it challenging to make an impact and has yet to feature in a single senior game. He has been limited to representing the Under-21s in the Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy.
