Hammers midfielder likely to leave this summer

|

West Ham are still waiting to hear whether Fiorentina are ready to pay the €8 million transfer fee placed on Edmilson Fernandes’ head.

The Swiss international has impressed during his season long loan in Serie A and now it’s a case of whether he has done enough to get a permanent move.

But with 28 games behind him it would come as a surprise were he not to see the deal sealed unless Manuel Pellegrini has seen sufficient improvement to keep him at th London Stadium.

A report from Calciomercato claims that Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella is yet to decide whether or not he wants to stump up the €8 million required.

There remains the possibility that with the Hammers in need of energetic midfielders with “legs” that Pellegrinin may decide to bring him back.

However, with other targets in mind the likelihood is that he will be happy to let the player go if the offer comes in.

As I see it if Fiorentina want him then the deal will make that happen – if not, given the rumoured 30 million kitty, we should decide whether we could get someone better for the 8 million Euros – which is quite a small fee by today’s standards
