Hammers need €35m to grab target

|

CarvalhoWest Ham can pick up William Carvalho for €35 million euros in January according to Portuguese press reports.

O Jogo claims that Sporting are short of balancing their books and that the defensive midfielder represents their best option of doing so.

The report says that Sporting Lisbon made just over €50m during the summer transfer window, but needed at least €70m to reach their financial goals.

And it claims that €35m should be enough to buy him, with the Hammers having told CandH that they retain an interest in the player.

Sporting have two important games ahead, against Barcelona and Porto, and the club is hoping that other clubs will be attracted to bid if the player shows real form.

But despite the very public war between Sporting and West Ham there would be no problem if negotiations were to re-commence.
