Hammers: “No Newcastle bid for Carroll”

|

CarrollhairflyingNewcastle boss Alan Pardew’s hunt for a new striker appears to have sparked the usual summer speculation that Andy Carroll is back on his wanted list.

Rumours started on social media networks last night that the £16 million signing could make a Tyneside return this summer for a knockdown £10.5 million.

However, at the Boleyn this morning ClaretandHugh was told: “There has been no bid or inquiry for the players. We have heard nothing from Newcastle and I’m sure we might have done!”

Reports in northern newspapers repeat the claims that Carroll’s name has been thrown into the mix by a person they describe as an “intermediary as Newcastle boss Alan Pardew steps up his search for a striker.”

But they confirm  Claret and Hugh’s information that no formal approach has been made for the player and point out his wage demands would be an issue at a club where he would easily be the top earner.
