Hammers off to Switzerland

|

West Ham are likely to setup their pre-season training camp in Switzerland.

The conditions for training in Switzerland are better than those in most other European countries. Switzerland’s high elevation and Alpine surroundings creates a beneficial training climate for the players. Travel is easy and the international access and short distances means the the squad does not have to travel too far. Switzerland is a safe country where privacy is respected with outstanding football pitches and exceptional hotels.

The move if confirmed will be a move away from Austria previously used by Slaven Bilic.

A number of Premier League and Championship teams have used Switzerland as a pre-season training base.  West Bromwich Albion had a training camp in the mountain resort of Leogang last summer whileCardiff City’s previously used UEFA’s campus in Nyon, near Lake Geneva.

The news should please Swiss International Hammer Edimilson Fernandes however he could miss out after being named in Switzerland’s preliminary 26-man squad so could be off to Russia.
