Hammers ready to let four go

|

West Ham will bid to offload their not so fab four to boost Manuel Pellegrini’s summer transfer kitty.

The club are ready to wave goodbye to Sam Byram, Edimilson Fernandes, Jordan Hugill and Andy Carroll as they try to ensure the boss has around £1oo million to spend this summer.

Injury-prone Byram and Carroll could collect up to £15 million whilst the Hammers are confident they can recoup £10 million on Hugill from an ambitious Championship club and value Fernandes at around the same.

They also believe that in the new manager they have a man with tremendous contacts who can unearth players from around Europe at sensible prices.

Carroll is entering the last year of his Hammers contract and whether he will be ready to move on and suffer a pay cut is a vexed question.

But with Arnautovic and Chicharito likely to become Pellegrini’s preferred striking partnership he may choose to move on if the opportunity presents itself.

Me too. Edimilson will arise from these ashes and prove that decision wrong, if it is true. It would be the first mistake.

Not too much to argue with there.Hughill has my sympathy as he never had a proper run out and if he just wasn’t up to it he should never have been bought.

Hard to decide whether the squad is weighted appropriately without knowing the formation. Assuming it is no longer 5 at the back, then surely we will need to keep one of the strikers. Playing 2 up front means we need some cover for Chicha and Arnie, I don’t see this Derby kid as being a feasible option yet for the first team squad

I agree we would need another striker, for cover. Antonio, could play up front but we still need another.

But the question is will Carroll and Jordan Hugil be that striker. I’m not sure they will fit into the way Manuel wants to play.

Has everyone forgotten Toni Martinez ? How has his loan at Valladolid been ?

I doubt there is much truth in this, Pellegrini is likely to want to see all of these players in training before making any decisions.

Snodgrass should be on the list as on the way out as well I would imagine.

        Yep and potentially oxford too.

I would add Cullen, Nice kid, but IMO from what I have seen of him he wont cut it as a premiership player, he looks like a solid championship player. I’m sure others may disagree with me.

Here are the list of players I think we should offload and how much I believe they are valued at, Given all was sold for maximum value, we would have another 67 mil to the kittle, only four have been in our first team this season and Hugli only played 22 min.

    Winston Reid 8-10m
    Sam Byram 3-4m
    Reece Oxford 10m
    Robert Snodgrass 10m
    Josh Cullen 3-5m
    Andy Carrol 8-10m
    Jordon Hugil 8-10m
    Reece Burke 5-8m

With that money we could buy four decent replacements, what is your view on this?

You would think pellegrini would want to have a look at all the players before making a decision on who to get rid of. It’s long been reported that Moyes wanted to get rid of these players though or maybe it was just Sullivan. I have read elsewhere recently though that Moyes wanted to get rid of Carroll but Pellegrini might make a u turn on the decision and decide to keep Carroll. It’s the opposite situation with ginge Collins. I think Moyes would have given ginge another year but I can’t see pellegrini doing the same.

    • colejamesuk123 says:

I agree Moyes might of gave Ginge another year.

However I don’t think we should obliviously my hart wants us to, but it would be an appointment based on the hart not the head.

Obviously it breaks by hart to see him go like this, hopefully he will play somewhere else for a year, and then come back to the hammers to be involved in some way.

Whatever happens I wish him all the best.
